Using Photographs of RC Cuttings While Modeling

This video illustrates how images of RC cuttings and paper logs can be used in modeling. Using Imago’s downhole 3D conversion tools, I transformed the images so they could be used in 3D modeling. These tools identify cuttings within the images of the entire tray, converts it into downhole strips and registers them over the desurveyed drillhole traces. The 3D downhole imagery is then visualized in Leapfrog and used to generate better models.
